Mock Draft: Finally! 1-10

This is really my Mock Draft 1.0, but I couldn't really start it any earlier as the draft is coming later this year. Without any ado, this is my prediction 1.0.

1) Houston Texans

This one is easy, no? The Texans need a fresh QB, but none of the quarterbacks in the draft class are a straight lock on the top pick. To that end, this is a Best Player Available pick; Jadeveon Clowney.
Defense wins championships, and combining Clowney with J.J. Watt and Brian Cushing in that front seven is a scary proposition.

2) St Louis Rams

I see this pick going one of two ways, either to bolster the St Louis passing attack with Sammy Watkins or to the O-Line with Greg Robinson. I have to say I hope the Rams go with Watkins at this pick, he can become their Calvin Johnson and will free up room for the likes of Tavon Austin & Zac Stacy to become a real offensive powerhouse.

3) Jacksonville Jaguars
Teddy Bridgewater

Jacksonville have kept Chad Henne on, but not at a starters pay grade. This leaves the indication that they're looking to a QB, and I see no reason for them not to hit one straight out of the gate with Teddy Bridgewater. He didn't have the most solid pro-day, but that's not the be all and end all of this process. If you watch his film, you can see the quality that he brings to the table, and he would hopefully be the player to turn around the QB woes in Jacksonville.

4) Cleveland Browns

The Browns have two picks in the first round, this pick being their first of those. I thought I saw the Browns using their top two picks for a QB and O-Line, but sometimes the draft dictates BPA (best player available), and at this stage in the draft that has to be Khalil Mack. The young man who has shot up everyones draft boards, into contention for that number one spot.

Jake Matthews

5) Oakland Raiders

There are two top OT's on the board for the Raiders to choose from. I say they go with Greg Robinson on this pick, pretty straight forward.

6) Atlanta Falcons

Another straight forward one, Atlanta have been spying a Tackle right out of the gates on this pick. I have Greg Robinson going to the Raiders, so Jake Matthews is the Falcons guy, although these two picks could easily be flipped.

7) Tampa Bay Buccaneers

I don't know if Mike Glennon is Lovie Smith's guy, but I don't think he's going to be bombed out his second year in the league. To that end, Tampa won't go with a QB this high in the draft.  So the pick then becomes Anthony Barr, from UCLA. A great talent to improve that Bucs defense, and Lovie Smith can have no dispute over getting a great defensive playmaker before anything else.

8) Minnesota Vikings

The Christian Ponder experiment is over in Minnesota, and they're primed to pick up the next great hope. This one has become less secure as Blake Bortles has shown why he deserves that top spot during his recent Pro Day, but if he falls to 8, the Vikings won't pass on him.

Justin Gilbert (in orange)

9) Buffalo Bills

A month or two ago, Khalil Mack was lined up to move across the city to join the Bills but his stock has been on the rise every since. With Anothony Barr off the board as well, that leaves the Bills with the exciting prospect of Eric Ebron to put straight in at tight end.

10) Detroit Lions

The Lions are going to find a cornerback with this pick. They have the option of Justin Gilbert or Darqueze Dennard, and I'm going to stick with the former. Dennard is challenging for that top CB spot, but Gilbert is the real deal in the way Clowney is as a defensive end.

I'm going to take this further into the first round, but Top 10 is the real discussion. It all starts to come down to which players have been taken already when you get down much further.
